Care Guide

Designed to Be Worn. Made to Last.

Every Hayah Closet piece is thoughtfully crafted with comfort, elegance, and everyday wear in mind. With proper care, your garments will maintain their beauty, shape, and quality for seasons to come.

While every garment includes its own care label, the recommendations below apply to most Hayah Closet pieces.

Everyday Care

To keep your garments looking their best:

  • Wash in cold water whenever possible.

  • Choose a gentle machine cycle or hand wash for delicate fabrics.

  • Use a mild detergent and avoid harsh cleaning products.

  • Wash similar colors together to help preserve the fabric's original color.

  • Turn garments inside out before washing whenever possible.

  • Do not use bleach, as it can weaken fibers and cause discoloration.

Drying

The way you dry your garments has a big impact on how long they last.

  • Air drying is always recommended.

  • Hang woven garments such as shirts, dresses, and abayas to dry naturally.

  • Lay knitwear, crochet, and delicate fabrics flat while drying to help them keep their shape.

  • Avoid tumble drying whenever possible, as high heat may shrink fabrics or reduce their elasticity.

  • Keep garments away from prolonged direct sunlight while drying to help preserve their color.

Ironing & Steaming

Most wrinkles can be removed safely with a garment steamer.

If ironing is needed:

  • Use the lowest suitable heat setting for the fabric.

  • Iron garments inside out whenever possible.

  • Avoid ironing directly over prints, embellishments, lace, or decorative details.

Special Fabrics

Some fabrics require additional care due to their unique properties.

This includes:

  • Waterproof swimwear

  • Satin

  • Chiffon

  • Crochet and open-knit fabrics

  • Lace

  • Embellished garments

For these pieces, always follow the care label attached to your garment and any fabric-specific instructions provided on the product page.

Storage

Proper storage helps your garments stay beautiful between wears.

  • Fold knitwear and heavier garments to prevent stretching.

  • Hang dresses, shirts, blouses, and lightweight outerwear on suitable hangers.

  • Store garments in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.

Natural Fabrics

Natural fabrics such as cotton and linen may gradually soften with wear and washing. Slight variations in texture or color are part of the fabric's natural character and are not considered manufacturing defects.
